What education do you have?

Well, I was doing a CS program at Ontario Tech, but I did really badly and just didn't manage to complete it. Apart from that, I only have my high school education. I know that's not good though.
If I was in your shoes, I would focus on getting an education. An entry level job is good as it brings in an income however building skills will create a career and a higher pay.
Health care is an in demand field.
Automotive, I'm not sure what it is like in Toronto, but there are probably more competitive candidates with education in Automotive who are more likely to get entry level roles. What kind of mechanic too. Light vehicles, transport, heavy equipment.
Think about what you want to do as a career. Go to job fairs as well. Make yourself more competitive - education, drivers license, etc.
Thinly veiled xenophobia... you could just say "I dont currently have any skills, what are good career options for me that are in high demand" and get the results you are looking for.
Unless, of course, you really really want to make sure you dont have to work with immigrants.
Sounds like you should go for the Automotive Technician thing. You can't control the other people in your industry, but if you are competent and hard working someone will realize and hire you.
Are you currently working as an Automotive Technician?
Not me, but there will jobs in that area as long as people are driving cars.
