What is global news?

Something that happened or was uncovered recently anywhere in the world. It doesn't have to have global implications. Just has to be informative in some way.

Post guidelines

Title formatPost title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL formatPost URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefixOpinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

In such a scenario, the Canadian military envisions small groups of irregular fighters or armed civilians carrying out ambushes, sabotage or drone warfare, the Globe reported.

Those tactics could include so-called “hit-and-run” attacks involving improvised explosive devices, similar to those used by the Taliban in Afghanistan against the US and allied forces, including Canada.

They’ve had multiple plans over the decades. This is nothing new or surprising.

There's war gaming to keep the staff busy and there's war gaming a likelihood against a nation that has made specific threats

Meh, how much oil do they have anyways? It's probably just cheaper to buy next elections. That would be the traditional, rational, incremental bullying action.

Ops forgot that the orange guy is increasingly cringe and irrational.

I feel like most Canadians are not going to fight a protracted peoples war for the sake of their country. Maybe I am wrong and canadians are willing to suffer and die for years against an enemy with total air superiority but this seems like an unreasonable scenario.

I’ll kill my 8 Americans and do my civic duty before I’m killed.

Think most Canadians would prostate themselves before America and would offer them their whole ass and balls. We talk about Americans having very little culture but Canadian culture is pretty much a cheap facsimile of whatever exists of American culture.

You'll see resistance/revenge killings once the Americans start killing people, but the average white Canadian won't give a shit until they're affected personally. So long as it's not their family/friends/neighbours being blown up & shot they'll roll over an accept it
