Keychron K4 HE – add knob? Linux Desktop config for HE depth? (feddit.org)

hi guys do you know if I by any chance could add my Keychron V1 knob to my K4 HE keyboard? I saw a mod for another keyboard (don't know where, maybe github?) with some rotary encoder, but idk if it works with the K4 HE.

also, can I use the web app offline somehow? I don't see where they have open sourced it, if they actually do. I can configure some settings through VIA but not the HE switch depth. How do I do that?

The VIA github repo links this as an alternative to the online app https://github.com/cebby2420/via-desktop they also note they have no affiliation to it, the official app does not work offline.

The other alternative could be compiling the firmwase yourself and flashing.
