and what circumstances caused them to abandon that village?
The OP suggests that there were Cheyenne Indians in the burning tents. I merely point out that the historical records indicate that this is not true. Please do not read anything further into my comment.
Next time before you comment, perhaps you can ask yourself if this distinction has any bearing whatsoever on the fucking point of the post (it doesn't)
Rat infestation.
The point is that burning empty tents so that the people that were chased out can't come back is still something to be angry about. Worse history doesn't have to be made up, there's plenty to be angry about with what really happened.
