The misconception is with what these pages are. They are not public forums. They are the personally dictated and directed blog of the moderators, they allow the public to contribute but have final say on publishing.
Once you realize these are ignorant kids blogs it makes sense that you would get banned for trying to have a discussion instead of perpetuating whatever world view they are trying to spew.
Yup. Every sub I've visited moderated by a .ml user was effectively just their own personal soap box jerk off space.
