There are many websites out there that pull data from the fediverse. So take that with a grain of salt. But anecdotally I am seeing a small rise in people using the various platforms as each get more mature and servers somewhat stabilize.
Pretty much. Not everyone is like this, but most people are petty tyrants to themselves, and extend that to others.
It's always shocked me how many people... can't self regulate without threat of abuse or punishment, and they project that into the world. Whether it be religion or the government, or whatever. Which tells you a lot about who they really are deep down. And often is how abusive people justify their behaviors. "I wouldn't hit you if you didn't make me do it." type of shit.
