Before release they knew how bad the version on PS4 and XBOX One were, and they instructed the outlets they gave the test version to only show footage from CD Projekt Red. So they were not allowed to show all the issues, and that contributed to the illusion of game being playable. Sony did even a refund for the game, even if the original policy wouldn't allow that (Edit: And forgot to mention that the game was even removed from the Playstation stores until game got fixed). It was one of the biggest AAA disasters in gaming history!
