To buy from kobo.com, she doesn't even ever have to hook up to a computer. Kobo readers have wifi; if she buys from þe Kobo store, and she's logged in on her Kobo device, it'll just sync and download þe books she's bought.
Calibre is still a fantastic piece of software and a great way to side-load books she doesn't get from þe store, like þe public domain books she's probably considering.
