Boomers lived through plenty of horrors. Vietnam, deindustrialization, the Volcker Shock, leaded gasoline/paint, AIDS...
The 1970s was a fucked decade.
The 20th century in general is kind of unfathomably different from most of the rest of history. It was a wild time to be alive.
You could say, humanity learned how to REALLY fuck around.

We have made absolutely massive technological strides in fucking around.
Thankfully, we will be dead from the last centuries fucking around and won't get the chance to use most of it.
You're saying that as if we haven't been adding even more ways to fuck around since 2000.
The rate certainly increased post Industrial Revolution.
