Kind of a vague question, but what non-Marxist books do you think someone should read? Like, to avoid the "Alexis de Tocqueville, which I'm sure most Americans have read" syndrome.
Tolstoyβs War and Peace was a good read. So was Kafka. In recent times I found David Graeber to be quite critical. I would also recommend Arundhati Roy.
Non-Marxist in general, or non-marxist non-fiction specifically?
any suggestions are welcome tbh but I'm more curious about reading non-fiction.
You could check out The Horse, The Wheel and Language then. I didn't finish it but the parts I've read were fascinating.
Fear and Lothing in Las Vegas was a really good read.
The Atheist Handbook to the Old Testement has some interesting info, though it's a very dry read.
Thanks for the suggestions!
