With the US blockade on Iranian shipping and ports in force along the whole of the southern Iranian coastline, and the railway link to China through the border crossing point with Turkmenistan at Inche-Buren damaged, the route across the Caspian has become the only cargo route for heavy traffic which remains under Iranian sovereign control.

Sorry, but I don't really understand the point you're trying to make.

Do you think Iran actually poses any meaningful threat to Ukraine, especially given their current geopolitical situation? The US wrecked most of their Caspian Sea fleet a couple weeks ago, so this isn't even the biggest thing that happened around there this month. They seem like they already have a bunch much more urgent things to focus on than this little event, and probably don't need any more enemies.

And, don't forget, Iran has been supplying weapons to Russia for years, which Russia has directly used to kill Ukrainian citizens. And they didn't start selling these weapons until the war had already started, so they can't claim to not know what they're being used for. This strike was a long time coming, and it's something Iran invited on itself.

Or was your issue when I asked why are you so interested in defending the authoritarian theocracy that currently controls Iran?
