I just thought things were less terrible, at least in my view. Sure, things were still bad and we still had mango mussolini as president but there was more in the way of distractions. Now, just about all I can think of is how bad things are whereas back than I could think, haha tide pods. To be fair, I was a dumbass teenager back then. I think I've grown a lot as a person, mostly for the better.

No point in living without growing. I remember in high school they had some motivational speaker come talk to our class. He was some ex-vet who had attempted suicide (that's all I really remember about him). He talked about life and a bunch of shit I don't remember. One thing he said really stuck with me. He said something like "If i looked back at myself when I was in high school and I haven't changed and grown as a person than that's a complete failure on my part." I think it's wisdom the whole world should hear.
