A lot of car drivers think that the speed limit is what you're supposed to drive. I've even met driving school instructors who tell you that you should drive at the speed limit.

With that attitude, you're constantly going to exceed the speed limit (not to mention unnecessarily waste fuel by braking every time you go 1 above it).

I usually set the cruise control to 10 below the speed limit.
