Tulsi Gabbard is leaving her post as US director of national intelligence following a tumultuous stint in which she was largely sidelined as Donald Trump launched attacks on Venezuela and Iran.

In a letter to the US president, she said she would resign and leave her post on 30 June. “While we have made significant progress … I recognize there is still important work to be done,” she wrote.

The White House forced Gabbard to resign, the Reuters news agency reported, citing a source familiar with the issue. Fox News was first to report Gabbard’s exit, citing her husband’s cancer diagnosis.

No, we can't. It's a nice thought, but she's going to skate. Putting her on trial would mean the Republicans will put the next gaggle of corrupt Democrats on trial in return.

And if you don't think she will, remember Scooter Libby. Letting the president's friends go off scot free is a long, proud, bipartisan tradition.

Let them. And let the Democrats pursue corruption from this administration if they want to try to prove that they are different to the people they should be answerable to.

This is dumb just like most Republicans. First, the Trump administration is already putting Democrats & those from the previous administration on trial. Second, there is a big difference between going after someone for actually breaking the law vs dumb Republicans who will claim anyone who doesn't worship Trumpjesus should be jailed. Let them destroy themselves. And you're not doing yourself any favors. They will not do the same for you.
