This quote has to be bullshit. Cameron Diaz had a lot of work done and has been open about regretting that. It's too late now tho, her face is all plastic and will never look normal again.

Edit:

Looked it up, not bullshit, she actually said it. 20/20 hindsight...

While I agree that it's terrible that people feel pressured to get surgeries they regret, I don't agree with using that kind of shaming language. Just let people be.

Almost like it’s incredibly hard to not succumb to societal pressures of anti-aging especially when you’re in the public.

Hahahaha yeah yeah, you first, my dude. I'm sure you've never done ANYTHING that you regretted or was influenced by outside pressures.

I'm just so thrilled that all the Lemmy users here are making fun of a woman's face. It's such a good use of your time and energy.

Certainly choosing to be respectful of how another person looks would be doing the hard thing?

I think there is value in agressively spreading anti-anti-aging messaging, but yeah you have to be careful about the people you're talkingg about while doing it.

No one in this comment thread you're replying to is making fun of her though? It's just sad.

[–] velma@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah it's so sad when women aren't attractive to men, isn't it?

So, so sad.

[–] mrbutterscotch@feddit.org 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

What? Why is everything about gender for you? It's cringe.

You seriously don't think it's sad that she felt pressured by society to operate on her own face? Or are you one of those that think it's empowering or some shit.

[–] velma@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Oh no, someone thinks I'm cringe on the internet? I'm devastated.

I think it's pathetic that a bunch of men on Lemmy chose to post and comment on a woman's face and talk about how sad it is that she "ruined herself".

[–] mrbutterscotch@feddit.org 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Are you saying I'm one of those men? Because I think it's sad that she felt pressured by society to do something like that?

[–] velma@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Are you looking to be offended by my stance here? Smh, you want to be a victim of my feminism so bad, don't you?

I think it's rude to comment on people's faces and especially so when men decide to comment publicly on a woman's face to the point of using AI to alter her image to further disparage her.

If you went up to someone and told them you thought it was sad that they got plastic surgery and you think they ruined their face, you really don't think that would be rude to do?

[–] mrbutterscotch@feddit.org 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

What a dumb fucking take lol.

Commenting on the internet is not the same thing as walking up to someone and saying that.

It would be rude to walk up to Charlie Kirks wife and say that he kind of brought it on himself and that he was a shitbag. Are you saying that we aren't allowed to comment that on the internet either?

And no, I'm not looking to be offended by your stance, I was just clarifying. You're the one offended by everything and everyone for no reason like some internet warrior. Have a good one.

[–] velma@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 hours ago

Men feel entitled to speak about women’s appearances all the fucking time.

Sitting around and talking about how sad this woman’s face is because it doesn’t make your dick hard is pathetic.

Have the day you deserve :)

I get you, however people can change their minds. Per your comment, she regrets the work she had done. Perhaps she’s saying this now because of what she went through, and not only follows what she now believes but also hopes to inspire others before they make the same mistake.

she probably sees in all the hollywood women who has plastic surgery and botox, they had to keep up the looks or else they dont get cast in any roles in hollywood. also botox causes atrophy so people are addicted to getting more.

if anyone watches ISAIP show you can see the drastic changes with rob and kaitlyn in the show from 1 season to another.

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Aaah mannnnnn don’t get me started on Kaitlyn’s plastic surgery, and of course Rob’s bothers me too. Funnily enough Glen’s doesn’t bother me because well…Dennis. He’s all about demonstrating that value.

Luckily, I’ve noticed in the last couple of seasons it appears they’ve all either stopped or cut way down on the work they’ve been getting. IMO it was incredibly distracting and super unrealistic for the characters they play on the show. IMO again, I think it would have been super funny and easy to write in the work they’ve had done into the show, esp since they’ve been leaning quite hard into physical cringe/discomfort humor.

Interesting what you said about pressure to look good in Hollywood, as IIRC Kaitlyn did mention this in an interview a while back.
