Can a British person here explain what is up with you guys and baked beans? We have them in the US, but nobody likes them. They’re used as filler for one of the small compartments in the styrofoam to-go boxes when we have grilled chicken events, along with slaw and a shitty roll. We never eat beans for breakfast.

A 1927 Heinz marketing campaign for "beans on toast" helped establish them as a breakfast food". It's just taken for granted now.
