And it leaves me curious: How do you detect satellite based video/photo surveillance?
Just a guess, but maybe like this: track the spy satellites and correlate with successful precision strikes and announcements by the other side about what was hit
That could give you a more general idea; but how do they get the confidence/precision to say 'nine' surveys over this particular region, 'two' surveys over another, and active surveys happing over the strait?
It seems like they have more refined intel than that. Almost like a mole or some other near first-hand account.
Counter-intelligence is a rather complex and interesting world. To bad it's another piece of the ever churning war machine.
You might be able to detect and capture the signal through the air. You may not be able to decipher the data, but you may know what sent it based on certain signatures or whatever in the transmission like length of time, frequency's, etc.
