Community for those focused on sustainable travel. Our society's current levels of energy intensive and frequent travel are not compatible with life on a finite planet. We advocate for long-term slow travel to see the world, and low energy local travel to deeply experience your community. Green washing free zone.

The communities listed above are decentralized. Centralized instances are omitted as they go against the fedi purpose and it’s better to cultivate digital rights in the free world. That means instances that have a disproportionately large population or are centralized on Cloudflare are not listed.

Not as dangerous as you might think, since you always got a security chute with you. So, paradoxically: you're safer the higher up you are, because the chute has actual time to deploy.

Statistically, it's safer than riding a motorcycle. (Which isn't too safe, I know)

Oh wow that is surprising. I mean I don't have that much context for motorcycles but it's not an uncommon hobby so it can't be that bad right?

The old joke about motorcycles is, a guy is in the hospital, waiting for a organ transplant. The doctor comes in and says "we don't actually have a new organ for you yet, but let's prepare you for the surgery anyway. Its raining, so it shouldn't be too long now."

Implying that since its raining, the roads are slippery, killing motorcyclists.
