Well that was a mentally exhausting easter.
p's just left. Decided to stay down here for a day or two more.
Also found a yellowtailed black cocky (I think) feather this morning:
edit hrmm.. looks like it's illegal. Guess i just put it back on the lawn where I found it lol.
edit 2.. looks like they're rare to find. flock swings past every second day to tear up the banksias. All the other birds hide from them.
What do you mean by illegal? To collect a feather from the ground?
Apparently you need a permit to have one 🤔
edit looks like they may have changed the rules. Am confuse.
I’d keep it. The law is probably meant for the wildlife trade, so people don’t kill endangered animals for their feathers/fur etc. If it’s a naturally shed feather you found in your yard it’s fine.
if it's on your lawn does that mean you have the feather
