How do you prevent yours from getting a tanned leather-like belly???
Not the poster you're asking, but T-bone does this too and lies sideways with his belly out. He started getting spots a little under a year old. I asked the vet and she didn't seem too concerned. But you can use dog sunscreen. (Even the ocean creature safe human stuff can be bad for them.) We started doing that for the days he really lies out there baking.
Can you recommend a dog sunscreen??? My older puppo is high risk for cancer, and our vet keeps telling us that dogs will lick off their lotion and only suggests to not let her outside. But then she'd be the saddest puppy on earth...
Epi-pet is everywhere. And seems to work. We just had to make sure to watch him like a hawk for the first 4-5 times to keep him from licking. And it gets easier when it dries.
Sincerely, thank you!
He doesn't generally lie with his tummy to the sky out there. He prefers to let the black fur soak it up like a solar panel. He has a "saddle" pattern like a german shepherd.
Aww!!! My sister's old rescue had the shepherd saddle and she'd sunbathe the same way
