This claim sounds extremely wrong. Steam has been asking that developers directly disclose their use of AI in delivered content, and I frequently see developers claim minimal usage; only logos or pre-release content. Some major developers have formed policies of regret for even having used placeholder content with no deliverables.
There is certainly a wave of slop premiering on Steam, but that won't compose the mainstream.
