Natural gas needs to be at -162 degrees Celsius to become liquid. And Iran is pretty warm.

I got a couple stories mixed up. Both the South Pars gas field and Ras Laffan are burning. Which is even more accelerant than I had previously understood. Wanna see some more oil burning too though
