I mean it's not much help preventing Russian attacks in Ukraine, so I don't see why it would all of a sudden help here.

The point is that the drones being downed, are downed with much less resources than what your comment refers to.

Less resources certainly, but not very effectively either. So, the problem of the US bases continuing to be dismantled will persist. Also worth noting that Ukrainian system relies on an extensive radar network being established, and radars are precisely what Iran is currently prioritizing.
