The expansion into four more markets marks a significant step toward Waymo’s goal to surpass 1 million weekly paid trips by the end of 2026.

A back of an envelope calculation ( 3 trips per hour, 120 per week, 6k PA) - suggests this is replacing about 8,500 human drivers; still a modest amount.

That mostly aligns with us knowing they currently have an active fleet size of around 3,000 and are doing 400,000 weekly trips which would suggest a million requires a fleet of about 7500 vehicles.
