My experience with Bazzite was that it was the distro that just works™, so it sucks you're running into problems. Since time is a crunch, maybe check out the Pop_OS 24.04 beta. It comes with Nvidia drivers and the full release is just a week away. It's also Ubuntu based so it should be easy for your friend if they are new to Linux.
Currently Cachy is installing though also has the blurry issue, so I'll massive check out Pop if I can't fix that
