The default transcoding profile uses ffmpeg's
veryfastpreset, which is the third fastest of the ten available presets, and already leaves a lot of quality to be desired IMO. Using a different transcoding profile requires the use of server plugins, as would the ability to set the profile per channel or video. I haven't checked to see if a plugin exists which allows the user to select a profile, but it's something I'm also interested in myself. I'm also not sure if using a different profile makes a transcoding job any more or less likely to fail.thanks
