Post guidelines

Title formatPost title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL formatPost URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefixOpinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

My concern would be less about features and more security updates

Mate I checked for you.

I have a poke 3.

In 2022 there were like 3 updates spaced out over the year.

In December 2023 there was another one.

Then nothing more since.

Thanks, that’s my concern with a lot of these interesting devices from small companies

Just curious, would Kobo and others keep updates going for longer?

I’m not sure but I’m trying to look (not very actively right now, though). Amazon seems to keep updates going for 6 years or so but I’d prefer to not be in such a closed ecosystem. There’s certainly an attraction to an Android-based system. Google has been pushing for suppliers to provide longer Android support but it doesn’t seem like many smaller suppliers have been doing that still. Of course, if you disable internet access and only load files over USB then it’s less of a concern, but then you lose out on some of the Android benefits.
