Fediverse vs Disinformation
Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.
Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.
What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.
By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

So I Googled this guy, and he is a literal eco-fascist.
He defines himself as a "Christian eco-nationalist" who wants to solve California's problems by deploying AI to stop wildfires and using prison labor - excuse me, "restorative justice labor", God I hate conservative assholes who redefine social justice terminology - to rebuild California's infrastructure.
He's also a passionate Catholic who thinks the solution for California's problems is to return to the religion that once made California great.
Also, he's young enough that September 11th was his first memory, which is, you know, I read a comic book about him 20 years ago?
And while I think it's fascinating that a major political candidate in the United States is running on an explicitly eco-fascist platform - and I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more of those candidates in the next decade or so - at this point he's an embarrassment desperate for page views and nothing more.
I would still vote for him over Gavin though.
