Hello good fellows. I am going to move to another country and I really want to take my minis with me. I will travel by plane. Are there any tips and trick that you can share with me. Much appreciated!

A few months ago, I caught a neighbour throwing out a huge collection of 40k and fantasy stuff. Naturally I asked them not to do that, but give it all to me.

I went from having a couple of squads here and there to owning several armies. Thankfully a lot of the fantasy stuff was unpainted, but the blood angels army I got was pretty horribly painted.

I am planning stripping the paint off and repainting them. The only problem is, is that I find blood angels quite boring (both lore and paint scheme).

I was wondering of there was a way to convert them to something else other than the classic chaos conversions.

Also, it would be nice to keep sculpting to a minimum, since I have about 30-50 various infantry units, 6 boxy dreadnaughts and 4-6 tanks.

I was thinking legion of the damned or sons of malice but I’m open to any and all suggestions.

Brother Veteran Faustinus during the purge of Barisis Minor ca. M36
A Terminator I finished over the weekend. The camera picked up a lot of little scratches that aren't seen by the naked eye. Especially on the hazard stripes on the Power Fist.

Edit: in case the pictures don't work, here is a link to my Pixelfed post I linked the pictures from.

Next in line, and deadline for this week was Belial. Pretty happy with the fabrics, not very happy with the fire, but at least he's the only one who has that detail. Question is for next weeks deadline, all I have left primed is Lion or a Repulsor, might wanna extend those deadlines for each of them though :D

This one overstayed his welcome a bit, but the result is okay.

It's #Mezgike's first dredgenought:

Let's say I'm building some woods for units to use as cover - what sort of footprint size do people use?

I'm not necessarily planning woods, but they're a classic terrain piece so I figure it helps explain the gist of the question. Depending on what seems sensible I'll figure out what my terrain actually ends up being.

I'm thinking about how many minis of different base size should fit but as I don't really play much 40K, I don't really know what works well, what's excessive, etc..

Bottom left, for example, there's a little base of "woods":

It looks like maybe five 25mm bases fit in there. That wouldn't be much good in the modern game, I suspect, as units that use 25mm bases are usually at least ten minis.

Not as happy with these as my other ones / characters. Had the idéa of each of them being from knightly houses as well as veterans, so that they would rep their house colours while still being a part of the army. Don't think I'll replicate it on the inner circle companions, but for my other 3 bladeguards I'll need some cool colour / shield mark combos hehe.

Also screening knights are very fun...
