G'day all! With recent fixes to door glitching in Contested Zones, I'm endeavouring to harvest some red security cards at the Pyam stations. I've been parking my Connie, with Nursa rover onboard, at a secure spot and propelling my way into the station via Extinguisher. Problem is, I only have two or three extinguishers, and have to abandon them at the entrance as the exits are on another side. I want to do multiple to & from my ship while at Pyam.

What's the easiest, fastest way to stock up on like a dozen or more of the handy little f***ers? Are they sold anywhere in particulars?

Thanks!

There is an English audio track (likely AI generated) on this video for anyone who needs it.

The video link should skip ahead to when they enter the trench.

They make it through one section, but the distortion was too much later on. They were able to repair the powerplants and continue. They discuss having a dedicated engineer who could repair/swap out extra powerplants to help keep everything running smoothly.

5 min video with Chachi showing how to request a refuel in 4.8.

Open up your Mobiglass -> Contracts -> Beacons -> Create a Beacon
Beacon Type: Refueling Service
(Ignore destination and cost fields)
Then click "Broadcast Beacon"

The refueler should arrive in a few seconds, fly up behind it, get close, and press Right Alt + N

It is possible to unbrick a ship by swapping out components and then toggling the power on the component in your ship's MFD.

I had initially tried to test this out, but I didn't use the MFD to toggle the component back on. So, I'm glad that Cpt_Foxyloxy figured it out.

You won't be able to use hangar services, you won't be able to manually swap out life support. Sometimes radar components can't be swapped out.

You can't manually swap out S3 components or above.

Hi everyone,

We've been closely following the conversation surrounding 4.8's upcoming wipe and wanted to give you an updated heads-up regarding what to expect.

Alpha 4.8 will include a comprehensive wipe. This means earned aUEC, in-game purchased vehicles, items, resources, reputation progression, and Wikelo and Executive Hangar rewards will all be reset with the launch of Alpha 4.8.

Here’s what you will keep:
• Blueprints
• Any item or vehicle entitled to your account and visible in the "My Hangar" section of the RSI website

As previously mentioned, this reset is an important step toward stabilizing the economy as new systems continue coming online. Alongside the wipe, we’ve also implemented additional safeguards aimed at reducing exploits and duplication issues, with more improvements to come.

We appreciate all of the feedback you've sent our way. We’ll be closely monitoring the rollout and look forward to seeing you all in-game!

Relevant part:

We know many of you are making plans for Patch Day, so we want to give you a heads-up. With the release of Alpha 4.8, we'll be performing a wipe of in-game resources, items, vehicles purchased with aUEC, and earned aUEC balances.

This reset is an important step toward stabilizing the economy as various new systems come online. Alongside it, we've also introduced additional safeguards aimed at reducing the exploits and duplication issues that impacted the economy previously.

Here's what you'll keep:

  • Vehicles obtained through Wikelo
  • Blueprints
  • Any item or vehicle entitled to your account (visible in the "My Hangar" section at robertsspaceindustries.com)

Additional clarification:

We want to clarify that the following will also be reset with Alpha 4.8:

  • Reputation
  • Executive Hangar ships
  • Wikelo gear and items (excluding ships)

Update 2:

Alpha 4.8 will include a comprehensive wipe. This means earned aUEC, in-game purchased vehicles, items, resources, reputation progression, and Wikelo and Executive Hangar rewards will all be reset with the launch of Alpha 4.8.

Here’s what you will keep:

  • Blueprints
  • Any item or vehicle entitled to your account and visible in the "My Hangar" section of the RSI website

It's a patch report for 4.8 so most of this stuff is already known. Here are the main highlights:

  • Tactical Strike Group missions are regular content (like Onyx facilities or mining platforms) not an event.
  • In-ship services (repair, refuel and rearm from inside another ship). Supported ships:
    • Polaris
    • Idris
    • Carrack
    • Starlancer TAC
    • 600i
    • 890 Jump
    • Ironclad Assault
  • NPC refuelling missions.
  • Working command module for Caterpillar and Ironclad (both versions).
  • New ships:
    • AEGIS Tiburon (big combat ship)
    • Drake Ironclad (cargo)
    • Drake Ironclad Assault (combat transport)
    • Drake Pitbull (fighter)
    • MISC Starlite (refuelling)
    • Origin M80 (fighter)
    • Anvil Odin (battlecruiser, just a concept for now)
  • New FPS items:
    • Plasma grenades
    • G-Force resistant flight suits
    • Novia Crossbow
  • DefenseCon is back, completely replaces Invictus this year.
  • Short-term plans:
    • Additional defence missions (patch 4.8.1).
    • "Alien festivities" (patch 4.8.2).
    • Xenothreat (patch 4.8.3).
  • Long-term plans (this year):
    • Reworked Siege of Orison.
    • Planets for Nyx.
    • Starwear
    • Starchitect
    • Municipal Works Operations (instanced missions).
    • New ships and vehicles.
    • New gameplay features and quality of life improvements.
    • Apex Valakkar (the one that actually moves around on planet surface instead of static ones currently in the game).
    • Squadron 42

There will be no Citizen Con this year. Neither normal nor prerecorded one.

A 4min 30s video where Evenlease reviews the crossbow.
2 shots to kill anything in armor. 1 shot if you get them in the head (even in heavy armor). There is some arc to the bolt, but apparently there is no damage fall off.

Looks like the interior of the M80. It also looks like the ship will have a small interior that we can walk through.

I noticed that @hasgaha@mastodon.online posted about this on Blue Sky a little while back.

Excited to finally be able to share this: @robertsspaceind.bsky.social is putting one of the posters I created for the @atmoesports.bsky.social #EnterATMOsphere2956 into #StarCitizen as an exclusive hangar decoration for players to hang themselves! You have to be at the Sydney event to get it though

I do appreciate the little rewards that players receive for going to IRL events like Bar Citizen, ATMO, CitizenCon, etc. I can't think of many other games that do something similar.
I just wish that we had a better way to lock these items onto shelves/tables/decorations in our hangars/ships so that they wouldn't jitter all over the place and end up all over the floor.

Wakapedia-CIG has posted the latest Evocati patch notes for everyone to see:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/190048/thread/star-citizen-alpha-4-8-ptu-patch-notes-3

Considering the changes to how ships can be stored at locations, it sounds like the SRV (tow ship) will become a very useful ship from this build and on.

There are some other major changes in this build that will drastically change how we treat our ships; rearming, claiming, etc.

Gameplay & Features

Vehicles & Loadouts

Item Recovery - Vehicle Loadouts
This update focuses on the latest updates to Item Recovery with ship loadouts.
By default, when your ship is destroyed and you file a claim, you will receive the base loadout for that vehicle. This loadout is defined by either: Your RSI web hangar configuration or the default in-game vehicle configuration. Any modifications you made (components, weapons, etc.) will not be restored as part of the default claim process.

- Saving a Vehicle Loadout
Note: For this test a custom loadout is called a “snapshot”, this terminology will change for release.

You can save the loadout current ship loadout using the camera icon in the ASOP. When going to claim back this vehicle, you will see an option to claim back the loadout you saved.
Loadout reclaim cost (aUEC) is based on both the hull and the saved loadout configuration.
This cost will be significantly higher than a default claim
You can choose to:

  • Claim the base ship (default loadout)
  • Claim the saved snapshot loadout

- Saving of crafted vehicle components
We are still working on making crafted vehicle components persist through claims. For this build, crafted items will come back in their default state on next claim.

- Consumables
Ammo and missiles are treated as consumables:

  • Ships reclaimed from a snapshot will not include ammo or missiles
  • Fuses are restored according to the vehicle’s snapshot
  • You must restock and rearm via ship services

- Stored Local Ships & Scrapping
There is a limit on how many ships can be stored locally within a hangar’s storage.
Bricked ships will not be automatically removed from a hangar’s storage, allowing you to call them up on the hangar to retrieve any cargo that was within.
You can scrap ships to remove them from your hangar, scrapped ships which you own can be claimed back later.

- Vehicle Manager App (VMA)

  • VMA no longer saves ship loadouts for claims. This must now be done via the ASOP to persists a loadout.
  • VMA is now limited to ship customization (similar to tractor beam interactions)
  • VMA will now only display vehicles stored at the current player’s location, regardless if you are the owner of the vehicles.

- Bricked Items
Each time an item or vehicle is claimed, it enters a temporary “bricked” state: Grace Duration: 5 minutes (test value)
After this period, the item or vehicle is non-functional

- Salvaging
For this release, selling and salvaging vehicle modules are disabled. Hull scrapping for imprinted or bricked vehicles is functional, but does not reflect the final implementation.

- Death flow
When dying, similar to how it is in LIVE, you will respawn with the gear you had equipped at the moment of death.

- Test Focus

  • Attempt to duplicate items using Loadout Claims (not default claims)
  • Perform repeated claims to stress test backend systems
  • Report any invalid or transient states encountered in ASOP
  • Store vehicles you do not own, Vehicles owned by another player, Bricked vehicles, NPC vehicles
  • Spawn nested vehicles
  • Deliver the constellation (with snub) and Check that the Merlin get it’s own entry. Check the bricked behavior of the merlin when claiming Constellation and vice versa

Hopefully this means the ships will go straight to being flyable.

As far as I know, the only Gatac ships we know about are the Railen and the Syulen. The Syulen has already been released, so that leaves the Railen and something else.

I'm curious what the second ship is. Maybe it's one of those ships where the shadow/outline was teased at a previous CitizenCon.
