It was better then I expected. I have issues with it of course. I feel this would have been a better game if it wasn't a reimagining of SH1. The story Is really good, it probably could have been told better no doubt. It has a twist ending that I feel stupid for not figuring out before the reveal. I was satisfied with the ending.

For context, I played the PS2 version. The game has "puzzles" that are clearly designed with the Wii's shitass motion controls in mind. These "puzzles" were slightly reworked for the standard PS2 controls and It feels slightly out of place.

I'd still probably rank this game as the second worst of the main entry SH games. I'd consider it a spinoff but people seem to disagree from what I've seen. Downpour was just utter trash and I struggle to find anything redeemable about it. Shattered Memories was actually an enjoyable experience with a great story that had to be a reimagining of SH1 but didn't want to be, if that makes sense.

This game started development as Silent Hill: Cold Heart. The game would have been mostly the same (probably, possibly?) but it would have a different protagonist. Konami in their infinite wisdom wouldn't green light the fucking thing after the failure of Homecoming so Climax re-pitched it as a remake of 1 which Konami had already green lit.

It's a shame this game's story is held down by being a bad remake of SH1. It's actually really good if you can ignore it's connection to the series and just play it. I'm not saying it's the best game ever but it's a good game, and deserves better in my opinion.

I have mixed feelings. The story I think was excellent. Possibly one of the best SH stories. This didn't always translate to amazing gameplay however. The combat for the most part kind of sucked imo. The story really was the best part for me. I thought the puzzles were pretty good.

The worst part of the game for me is

Tap for spoilerall the forced combat towards the end of the game. It's not difficult, it's just annoying. I'm hesitant to play it again anytime soon mostly because of that.

Performance wise, no complaints. I ran the game with an RX 9070 XT and was averaging above 100fps. Of course, older cards may struggle but from what I've seen the game is pretty well optimized.

I'm more curious about what other fans thought about the game, I realize the game is pretty divisive. I've seen it called the new SH4.

So, those of you who played it, what did you think? I'd probably rate it 6.5/10.

So this guy went and made a clone of P.T. ~~in the Unreal engine~~ and it's pretty fucking rad. It does have some bugs not present in the original and it's not exactly 100% accurate. I'd say it's 93-95% accurate to the original. It's not a bad experience especially if you don't have a modded PS4. I tried running the original game in ShadPS4 which didn't work too well.

I recently acquired a PS4 on very old firmware from someone who didn't use it anymore. I knew I had to get P.T. running on this thing. Long story short, I got the game up and running and was blown away by it. The game, though short is one of the darkest, most haunting games I have ever played. It makes me wonder what could have been with Silent Hills. I'd be curious to hear the communities thoughts on this game. I'd also be interested if you played it back when it came out and what you thought of it. This game is so good. I tried running the game in an emulator too with not so great results. Apparently it's working in ShadPS4 for some people.

Tap for spoilerJust to clarify I have played it once before on console. This is my first time playing on PC. It seems to me I did everything right to get the Leave ending. I examined the picture of Mary many times. I didn't examine Angela's knife once. I kept James in good health 95% of the time. I'm so perplexed right now. Am I missing something?

I played the game recently and I kind of liked it. It had some problems don't get me wrong but It was an overall enjoyable experience. I was playing the PS2 version which is pretty buggy. My main issue with the game are the lore inconsistences. I question weather or not this game could even be considered cannon. The soundtrack goes pretty hard at times as well. So, it's sort of a mixed bag for me. Anyway, I'd be more curious to hear what everyone else thinks.

I just finished it for the 2nd time, and gotta admit I like it now even better than before.

It was my first (and only) Silent Hill game I've played. Seeing it get 6/10s on Wikipedia is kind of sad. It feels like they put a lot of effort into this game.

I've seen a lot of comparisons to the Silent Hill movie, which I also haven't seen. So yeah, I'm not that big of a Silent Hill fan, but if someone asked me "do I like Silent Hill" then I'd easily respond with "Yeah, I loved Homecoming."

Is it that people think it's a bad Silent Hill game? Do they think it's a bad game in general?

And my biggest question, do you think the game is better in retrospect?
