I caught my first shiny pokemon today while on hold with tech support. Unintentionally went into the grass across the daycare in X and found a shiny smeargle. Two quick balls later, named him Marco Rufalo.

It has Intimidate as well and decent IVs so I have taken full advantage and properly EV trained it with 252/252/4 attack/speed/special defence.

I had planned to use Snorlax or Clefairy for my normal type (fairy type isn’t in gen 3) but this catch was too perfect to pass up.

I haven’t finalised Tauros moveset yet but with Strength it one shots nearly anything that doesn’t resist it at equal level - obviously not in pvp but it would be solid there too.

This Tauros might just be the team MVP by the end of the run.

Just for funsies,

I'm slowly playing through LeafGreen at the moment and I need some mushrooms to optimise the attacks of my team. Has anybody experience which way is the best to get them?

Do I farm the three spots where I can pick them up or do I catch as many Paras as needed or maybe there is an other method I have not thought about?

Thanks in advance for the help.

In my mind these are essentially the same thing. Ever since I was a kid playing Red, it annoyed me so much and I still think about it sometimes.

Put together a free database of every cooking recipe in Pokopia — 125 total with all the ingredients, where to find them, and what specialties they unlock.

Been using it myself to track which recipes I still need. Figured others might find it useful too.

Feedback welcome if anything's off!

Just launched a free guide for Pokopia habitats:

What's included:

  • All 200+ habitat builds with exact Pokémon requirements
  • Environment conditions (biome, items, size) for each habitat
  • Searchable database — find any Pokémon's preferred habitat instantly
  • Available in multiple languages (EN/ZH/JA/KO and more)

The site covers every habitat from Pallet Meadow basics to Rocky Ridges endgame builds. If you're stuck trying to figure out what a specific Pokémon needs to visit, this should save you a lot of trial and error.

Open to feedback if anyone spots missing data or errors!

I just got into playing rom hacks and loaded up Pokemon Ultra Violet which is a romhack of firered.

When I was doing the initial quest for Oak, before getting pokeballs, I encountered a shiny pidgy. I was a bit bummed as it was my first ever shiny encounter and Ive been playing my whole life.

After giving him the parcel, I found another shiny pidgy on the same route.

I did not play gen 3 games much, so were shinies easy to find in this gen or did a i just get extremely lucky?

hey there,

I'd like to add a Pokémon Mini to my collection. Not all games have been released to PAL - do you know if those Minis are region locked or if it will play J-NTSC Games as well?

I had the chance to visit the Pokemon pop-up shop and mini exhibit at the Natural History Museum in London today. It featured a small display of artwork from the upcoming Pokemon Ecology book, a bunch of merch, and a rather cute diorama.

Those are some boosters I opened today (they have lots of them in store).

I bought this Chinese booster in a local store. But I don't know what are some beautiful cards I could get with it or the name of the extension in English.
