While these agreements predate the second Trump administration by years or even decades, they are receiving new attention as the president executes a mass deportation campaign that relies heavily on local partners.

The action came as No ICE Philly and allied pro-immigrant groups launched “A Week of Action Against ICE and Collaborators,” seeking to bring attention to ongoing immigration arrests.

First, the vehicle being inspected must be all one uniform color, meaning all body panels must be painted and match in color.

Second, the vehicle must be fully restored to its original operating condition as designed by the manufacturer and meet the original manufacturer’s specifications and appearance.

You guys in PA need to find out who put this into law and get them TF out of government because they're obviously in the pockets of someone in the auto industry. There's no reasonable justification for these, and they should be challenged in court.

Importantly: they were attacked by the police chief, who wasn't wearing a uniform, and spent the better part of a week in jail already over it.

McElree, the police chief, who was dressed in plain clothes, grabbed a teenage boy and placed a teenage girl in a chokehold, they said, prompting other students to intervene and a larger scuffle to break out.

“We don’t have to choose between risking ourselves and feeding our children," said one man who depends on the deliveries.

Those videos also show police intervention, including a man now identified as police chief Scott McElree entering the crowd, grabbing and shoving a student and placing another student in a chokehold.

He then got beat up by a bunch of girls in response to his attack. He was plainclothes at the time of the attack, so they had no idea whether this was just some random murderer trying to kill one of them.

Security video showed the fourth- and fifth-grade students running, with some shouting: “ICE! ICE!”

Agents broke down the front door of a home and blocked off a street. A state lawmaker called it “completely unacceptable.”

“While I have been clear in my support for the enforcement of federal immigration law, this decision will do significant damage to these local tax bases, set back decades-long efforts to boost economic development, and place undue burdens on limited existing infrastructure in these communities,” wrote Senator Fetterman.

TREMONT TWP., Pa. — Commissioners only learned about the purchase of a former Big Lots warehouse for the project this week. Schuylkill County Commission Chair Larry Padora said he didn't see it coming.

"It was surprising, to say the least. When the deed came in, I was surprised on Monday," said Padora.

At full capacity, that would give the facility a larger population than Tamaqua, Schuylkill County's second-largest Borough. That would mean thousands of people in a warehouse where Big Lots had fewer than 500 employees. Padora said, right now, the facilities aren't there.

And there's another issue. Big Lots paid almost $1 million in local taxes every year. The federal government will be paying nothing.

U. BERN TWP., Pa. – As tensions grow across the nation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has purchased a nearly 520,000-square-foot warehouse in Upper Bern Township — one of dozens of facilities purchased across the country expected to be converted into immigration detention centers.

The warehouse located on Mountain Road, about a mile from Interstate 78, could house up to 1,500 beds.

Democratic U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan — who represents Chester County and southeastern Berks County — expressed deep concern.

"Spending more than $87 million of taxpayer money on a single facility in Berks County is not just a questionable use of resources; it reflects a set of priorities that don't align with our values or our real community needs,” she said.

President Donald Trump and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum ordered content at national parks that “inappropriately disparage” the U.S. to be reviewed and potentially removed.

Planned Parenthood has confirmed that its Downtown Pittsburgh location will close Jan. 23 and its Greensburg location will close Saturday. The Bridgeville clinic closed its doors in December. It’s unclear how long the clinics will remain closed.

Nearly half a dozen registered nurses and certified nurse practitioners left the organization for other jobs over the last several months, according to Michael J. Gibson, communications director for Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania (PPWP).

Planned Parenthood will continue to offer telehealth services during the closures for prescriptions and referrals. But patients seeking exams, STI testing and other care will have to find other providers.

The drop in homicides to 222 mirrors a national reduction in violence and follows years of sustained declines after Philadelphia’s homicides peaked during the pandemic.

Same thing is true nationally, though in most places the pandemic jump wasn't quite as big
