Calvin and Hobbes standing outside in the dark, staring at the stars. Stick figure floating in the sky with a speech bubble saying "If I don't vote or vote for anyone not backed by a major party they tell me the outcomes are my fault, but I did not build this game, I think it's poorly designed, I was excluded from participation until quite recently, the rules treat certain groups really unfairly, the rules for changing the rules are also distributed really unfairly between players, and I never consented to participating and don't want to play. I just want to exist and try to do some good with my hands and my brain and the people around me who feel the same way."

"But Harris wouldn't have..." Yes she fucking would. And so would Jeffries and Schumer and the whole corrupt cabal of Democrat leadership.

The oligarchs in blue aren't going to save you from the oligarchs in red.

US President Donald Trump signed the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law Thursday, completing the passage of the largest military spending bill in US history—$901 billion, or over $1 trillion when combined with supplemental funding passed earlier this year.

The Senate voted 77-20 on Wednesday to pass the bill. The Democratic leadership, including Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York and Minority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois, voted for the bill. They were joined by Senators Mark Kelly of Arizona and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, both of whom released a video last month calling on military personnel to disobey illegal orders—as Trump was sending the US military on a murder spree off the coast of Latin America.

Citing Trump’s statements about using troops to shoot protesters in America, Slotkin invoked the legacy of the Nuremberg tribunals, which convicted Nazi leaders for war crimes and crimes against peace. But when it came time to vote, this invocation was revealed to be completely meaningless. Slotkin voted to hand Trump the resources to pursue his military adventure against Venezuela...

The bourgeoisie treats the state like foundations & NGOs e.g. rockefeller. Foundations convert tax deductible donations into cultural power at home and abroad. The state itself distributes the losses from maintaining a monopoly on violence, culling through the prison system, and now endlessly bailing out private banks thru quantitative easing, applying diplomatic pressure to open markets, manage debt & commodity flows so the costs & contradictions can be exported to third world countries. In imperialist countries election is a very limited political venue even if you can seize control of the rigged process without force

You get your democracy once the workers take control of the state. You don't use bourgeois democracy to attain control of a bourgeois state. Stop playing the claw game at Walmart and complaining you almost got the prize and you need another chance

Text: screenshot of a Tumblr thread reading:

Every day I am forced to confront that the the Democratic Party won the White House and Congress in 2020 and instead of doing the smart thing and ending the filibuster, packing the court, and going scorched Earth on the GOP which, mind you, had just tried to overthrow the election, they kicked back and proceeded to do absolutely nothing of note except cut a blank check for the most televised genocide of the last 30 years.

A disciplined party could have un-fucked everything trump did in the span of a few month, but they chose not to. They chose not to, and now we're all paying for it.

The purpose of a system is what it does.

I learned a lot from this article and I'll attempt to provide a short summary:

We are living in an era where the movements for land back and for solidarity with Palestinians, Sudanese, Congolese, Ukrainians, Hong Kongers, Tibetans, Uyghurs, Kashmiris, etc. are becoming more and more popular.

Since our taxes and electoral systems are designed to fund and reinforce these systems of genocide how can we support voting with a clear conscience when we know that our vote legitimizes the existence of the same entities perpetuating these genocides? How can voting be called harm reduction when our vote is for normalizing the existence of genocidal states like the US?
