I don't have admin access to the Bluesky account, but the information would be good to share on Mastodon IMO.

Rss.app can make an RSS feed of a Bluesky profile, but it requires a paid subscription. Are there any better ways? (I had assumed there would be a tool specifically for this but I haven't found one).

The title sounds overly negative but idk how else to ask. Is there a list of known conservative / corporate owned / generally shady Mastodon instances that I can block outright? I don't want to go searching for them, but I also don't want to stumble upon posts from them either, so I'd appreciate a list of confirmed shitty servers to essentially copy and paste.

There's one person I follow who posts far more than everyone else I follow combined. I just don't see anything except their posts now. Is there a way to continue following them but not see every single thing they post / reshare?

I've tried muting them for 24 hours at a time, but it's awkward and doesn't really solve the problem. I think I'll have to unfollow them if there's isn't a mechanism to deal with this.

Mastodon's leadership team are sharing the vision and mission for the project, starting with a post from the Executive Director with an update on work towards the new non-profit, as well as the key plans for the coming year. We'll continue to communicate openly about progress as we go forward!

I've recently made some updates to the ActivityPub Relay I maintain. This includes a regularly updated list of connected instances for monitoring their status and having an easy way to refer to instances for inquiry. I've also added a relay policy which states instances will be banned for featuring bigoted content or having poor admin/uptime.

I definitely have room for some more Mastodon, Misskey, and Pleroma instances.

The relay server itself is located in the east coast of the United States, but open to all regions.

Hey! So I want to find some cool artists to make a commission perchance, but 99% of artists are on Bluesky and I would prefer to use Mastodon if it comes to that. I have my account connected to bridgy.fed, but it doesn't seem like to give me bluesky posts.

Is this in feature in functionalities of bridgy.fed, or is it impossible to get bluesky posts on Mastodon?

EDIT: You only see those Bluesky people's posts who are registered on bridgyfed

Issue #37370 got closed: This isn't an issue with the Mastodon software, but mastodon.social currently lacks outbound IPv6 connectivity.

I verified one over 3 years ago, and all went well. But after adding a new link, nothing happens. Tried to trigger the process again 3 days ago.

Question: Have you verified a profile link in the last few days/weeks on mastodon.social?

We are excited to share a significant milestone for Mastodon.

Earlier this year, we announced a major restructuring, and today marks a pivotal moment. Our Founder, Eugen Rochko, is stepping down from his position as CEO. In his latest blog post (see comments), he reflects on the incredible journey of building and growing Mastodon. We are deeply grateful for his leadership and the community he has fostered, and we are pleased that he will remain with us in an advisory role.

As we look ahead, we are proud to introduce our new leadership team, led by Executive Director Felix Hlatky (our former CFO). This transition represents a crucial step toward community governance and collaborative decision-making, emphasising our commitment to building safe and resilient social spaces.

Now more than ever, we need to work together to build safe and resilient social spaces. We must build information networks that are resistant to billionaire control and surveillance. And it will take all of us working together to do that.

Read more about this news and organisational updates in the post.

I’ve been using Bluesky for a bit, and one feature I really like is Bluesky Feeds.

Essentially, Feeds let users organize and curate content into separate streams beyond the default chronological or algorithmic timelines.

You can follow different feeds based on interests, topics, or curated lists, which gives a lot more control over what you see.

I’ve never used Mastodon-specific solutions for this, but I know there are some related projects like:

Fedifeed

https://github.com/SamTherapy/fedifeed

Fedialgo

Customizable Feed System Inspired by Bluesky (Github)

I’m wondering if Mastodon should consider something similar—perhaps via third-party integration.

The idea would be that a user could connect their account to a service (if the instance allows it), and their curated feeds would appear right in their chosen Mastodon app, fully managed through that external service.

Would love to hear thoughts—do you think this could improve content discovery on Mastodon, or is it something that goes against the platform’s decentralized ethos?
