I'm not the developer of this app, I just spotted it and noticed nobody had done any post about it here.

It's clearly early days: You can't create posts or comments and the UX could use some work. But it has a lot of potential and now we can count LinuxMobile to the supported platforms.

This past week: Phosh 0.54.0 released, mobile-config-firefox 5.2.0 adds vertical tabs support (may become default in future), postmarketOS Duranium gains system extensions support, Ubuntu Touch Q&A and good news regarding VoLTE on Pixel 3a Halium 12 port, and more! Enjoy!

I hope tablets aren't offtopic :p

What would be a small tablet with the following?

  • good mainline kernel support (don't really need camera or sensors)
  • aarch64 architecture (if there's something with another architecture that works well for the other points let me know anyway)
  • mobile data, preferrably 5G, would be fine with 4G if that is not yet a thing
  • USB-C
  • working suspend

I just want something to occasionally read blog posts and Piefed/Lemmy on.

It has to be small. I prefer 8" tablets. 12" tablets are really not for me. Perhaps I could grudgingly accept 9"...

I currently use a Dell Venue 8 Pro 5585, it's previously been a Windows tablet. It works well, although something crashes occasionally that makes it unable to display the batter percentage. Build quality is thin plastic and I always worry about it breaking, so I never carry it with me.

Distro support is not required, I want to port Mobian if I find a suitable device. I've previously done that for the Pixel 3a, so I know what I have to do.

This past week: A PINE64 Community Update with (no actual?) news on a PinePhone 2, Phosh 0.54 release candidate tagged at Chemnitzer Linux-Tage 2026, postmarketOS announces archival of unmaintained devices after v26.06, first batch of Jolla Phone preorders ready to be completed, and way more. Collected in a city known for a famous tragedy. Enjoy!

The first Linux tablet with hardware kill switches for nearly everything. Also very repairable/upgradable for a tablet.

Just remember a pledge on IndieGogo is not a preorder. I myself am going to wait to order until not only they demonstrate Linux working, but working well.

Shared as I thought other people may be fine with the compromises of funding it at its current state to get it to that desired state sooner.

I've got nothing more to say. I guess I'm just excited. Another quarter year until shipment, but I guess I will forget about it as I did before and then again be surprised 😅

With the recent announcement of Motorola partnering with GrapheneOS, I got curious about installing a custom rom like LineageOS or/e/OS on my Moto G Power (vegas) because I've been meaning to degoogle for a while now. As far as I can tell, Motorola has all the keys to be a primary development target: OEM supported boot unlocking, cheap devices, accessible hardware, etc. Why have their devices largely been ignored by custom ROM developers?

I thought this post was a great idea, so decided to copy it! This is my Pixel 8 Pro with GrapheneOS, some highlights are:

  • Most apps installed via Obtainium, except for banking apps etc that have to come from Google Play
  • Setter search bar
  • Quik SMS app
  • Pipepipe for watching Youtube
  • Lawnchair launcher
  • FairEmail email app
  • Dailer, Contacts, Calendar from Fossify

A thankyou to the help I've received here.

Phone looks and feels great.

Wallpaper (I'm pretty sure) is by Jubilee / 8Pxl

I'm looking at the jolla phone and absolutely love it, but its not looking like something I can easily get in the US. Iibrem is available but with a high price and terrible specs.

I'd really like something supporting continuum (usbc DP-alt mode) too if possible.

But the american options don't seem all that great. What's available in the US?

Samsung disabling bootloader unlock and what Google is doing with Android reminded me that Bootloader Unlock Wall of Shame exists.
And also that FSF's LibrePhone project exists, but not much progress has been seen from that.

Lineage os 22.2 installed on Pixel 1. On my pull down menu and power off screen there is a scrolling text that I dislike, can I turn that off?
