Jane Goodall is known for her conservation work, of course. What I didn't realize was her views on the afterlife and consciousness. In her final message, starting from 1:50 mark, she talks in no uncertain terms about life after death. ("I believe, and now I know...")

It turns out that she also wrote a foreword for a book of Ervin Laszlo, an advocate of quantum consciousness theory, in which she says:

I had my own transcedental experience in contacting the mind of one who was physically dead.

(Credit for spotting it goes to this post.)

Have you ever had a physical and emotional reaction to a person, place, or thing that you recalled from a prior life?

I (M-67) have always been a history buff. One summer when I was in my 40’s my wife and I planned the trip of a lifetime camping at Shenandoah National park and visiting Civil War battlefields throughout Virginia.

As we started our visits to battlefields I started getting the feeling of a deep pressure on my body, it was as if I was under a great deal of weight and experienced a hard time breathing; this only happened when we visited the battlefields as I was fine hiking throughout the park.

One day, totally unplanned, we stumbled onto a small battlefield (in the middle of nowhere) in which the battle had been fought near the end of the war when the confederates lacked adult men and had to recruit teenagers and old men. I later learned that This particular battle was fought by young boys from a nearby military school who faced seasoned union soldiers and were decimated during the battle.

We entered the parking lot, I exited the car, and I was immediately hit by a tremendous wave of sadness and emotion; so much so that I collapsed and started crying uncontrollably. My wife thought I was having a heart attack.she asked another visitor to help get me into the car then got me out of there looking for a hospital. As we drove away I was still crying but slowly regained control of myself until we stopped and I was able to resume driving.

I can’t say for sure what happened but at that moment in the parking lot I felt that I had been there and that I died on that battlefield. Just writing this out brings tears to my eyes even so many years after it happened.

When I was 19 years old I suffered a rough injury playing rugby. A 270 pounder landed sitting down on the back of my head. Ground frozen. Crunch. Got up to spit my teeth out as they felt loose laying on my tongue. One of the guys playing was a paramedic and asked me to open my mouth

“We got to go the hospital. Now.” My lower jaw was broken way out of whack.

At the ER I was a bloody mess. A nurse handed me tissue and told me to blow my nose. I blew my eyeball out. She instinctively popped it back in. Eye socket was shattered (it’s all wire today). Broken jaw (to be wired shut for 7 freaking weeks), deviated septum…a mess. I had to sit up in a hospital bed 3 days til the swelling went down enough to proceed with maxiofacial surgery.

A couple days before surgery my Uncle visited with a book: The Brand-X Anthology of Fiction. I cherish it to this day. We were both literary kinda guys. I could see he was shook up at my condition. My Dad told me later that when my uncle was in law school he suffered a similar injury including a fractured skull.

The night before surgery I had a dream. I was in our family home floating by the ceiling room to room til I came to the kitchen where my four sisters sat at the table crying. One of my sisters was deceased at this point and had a newspaper open. Found myself floating to her shoulder to see what news she was bawling over. It was the obituary page. My name was there.

I shot awake screaming I was gonna die. They had to put something in the IV to calm me down.

The next day my girlfriend came to visit (my wife of 40 years now) and I told her I had a dream and I knew I was going to die in surgery.

“Don’t be silly. They flew this surgeon in because he’s the best in the country. You’re in good hands, you’ll be fine…”

I told her I loved her and gave her messages for my sisters, brother and Dad.

When they wheeled me out of recovery and back to my room my Dad was waiting for me and he was looking worse for the wear. He informed me the night before my surgery my Uncle had passed away in his sleep. Said he didn’t want to tell me before surgery so as not to upset me. He was my Dad’s identical twin. I was named after him…

Okay so I’m not famous or a big time musician but it is my full time job and have been performing for 10+ years. My band is well known regionally but no I won’t dox myself. Lots of our music is improvisational in nature.

Anyways, there’s this “thing” that I can’t quite figure out, and maybe I’m not supposed to. But I’m wondering if any other performing musicians want to chime in? It’s so hard for me to put into words, but it has hints of telepathy, and even teleportation. There’s not much I or we as a band can do to really control it. It just happens when it happens, but when it does we and everyone in the audience knows, and it’s always one of those things where we just look around at each other after it happens and we all know that it did happen, but no one can really explain it. The first time this happened to me was when I was just jamming and hanging out with my sister. “I” was just playing, (I put quotations because idk I feel like when I get into a flow state, it isn’t really “me” playing per se), and we both felt like our consciousness was about to get transported to some other realm or something. Totally wigged me out and I got scared. But then devoted my life to finding that experience again. It’s totally fascinating and I’d love to hear some others’ thoughts.

That Terrence McKenna post really got me reflecting on the general state of things today.

There’s so much to consume… so much information and it’s getting more chaotic by the day.

To quote a comment from u/mrdevlar, ‘imagine dropping a person from 200 years ago into today's media environment. The complexity would crush them’

I know the real world is in flames, but how much of what we feel about reality is anchored in our experiences online? Identity, discourse, communities, parasocial relationships.

I feel like so much of me exists behind this black mirror…

We’re here looking for High Strangeness but honestly our way of life has become SO strange to the core human nature.

Idk what my point is. I just find it fascinating how desensitized we are… like one day my grandchildren might just say to me

‘Grandad, you have to blink twice for the link to activate and neurodial your brother’ and it’ll just be like… yeah ok.

I just haven’t seen a lot of posts where people write about encounters they’ve had witnessing someone with “supernatural” gifts of any kind and I'm dying of curiosity if anyone has seen/known/heard of someone who displayed an ability you couldn't rationally explain that blew your mind.

So this is today’s strangeness, it turns out scientists keep finding bacteria in the ocean that don’t just survive around plastic they have started to eat it. As in plastic is becoming food.

PET-eating enzymes are now showing up in about 80% of global ocean samples, from surface garbage patches to deep-sea zones where carbon is normally scarce. The microbes down there have basically switched their diet to the stuff we’ve been dumping for decades.

Even stranger: the more plastic a region has, the more plastic-eating genes appear. It’s like evolution is fast tracking adaptation to our pollution levels in real time.

And then there’s the strange part, one strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (a hospital pathogen) was found literally feeding on medical plastic. Feels like we’re watching a new carbon cycle being born… based on synthetic materials.

What strikes me though is, if this progresses, will we see an accelerated evolution of plastics becoming more susceptible to decay and how this may be the start of something that could become increasingly problematic. Have we just given bacteria a taste for something!

Or am I overreacting?

To me, a lot of the strange happenings that are documented by both groups seem very similar as if they're two different branches from the same tree: Objects/apparitions appearing and disappearing, temperature differences, glowing orbs/floating orbs, strange readings on equipment, disembodied voices/telepathic communication, strange markings left on people after their experiences, eerie sensations/feelings being in the presence of whatever may be happening.

There are a lot of crossovers with these happenings but I've never heard of a UAP/UFO group using ghost hunting equipment or a Ouija board or doing a séance when trying to do a CE-5 contact, nor have I heard of any ghost hunters trying to use CE-5 contact methods either.

What are your thoughts?
