Community for CRPG games and other RPG gaming discussions. Witcher, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Baldurs Gate as well as indie RPGs (Underrail, Avernum, Space Wreck etc.). Focus is on CRPGs, but discussion around JPRGs, ARPGs and hybrid games with RPG components is also welcome.

Tabletop/pen & paper RPG discussion is not a good fit for this community. Check out !rpg@ttrpg.network for TT/P&P RPG discussions.

Memes are not banned, but the overwhelming focus is on discussions, releases and articles. Try and post memes (on an occasional basis) that would make people who don't like memes admit "OK! That was a good one!".

Citizen Sleeper's creator has wanted to make new RPG Signet City for a decade but it's always been a risk. But, if they don't do it now, they never will.

Grim Dawn is an aRPG. I'd compare it to Diablo and Titan Quest. They will be releasing a new expansion, "Fangs of Asterkan," July 23, 2026.

The OG game released Feb 25, 2016. Crucible mode released Aug 3, 2016. The 1st expansion, "Ashes of Malmouth," released Oct 11, 2017. The 2nd Expansion, "Forgotten Gods," released Mar 27, 2019.

What happens when diablo, torchlight, and titan quest gang bang a video game developer and you're not quite sure who the father is? Grim Dawn.

The class/mastery system is amazing. As you play and level you select 2 of 9 masteries. The class/mastery system is similar to titan quest, in fact the game uses the TQ engine. The class system creates so much depth with varied playstyles. On top of this you have devotion points which can further alter/enhance your abilities.

THERE IS SO MUCH LORE. Really! I loved reading all the little notes you find scattered about the world as you progress through the story. Many of the NPCs you interact with are pretty memorable, and add depth to the story. There is lots of good voice acting here too. The music is good. Boss battles feel tense.

Despite how RNG the gear drops can be, you have the ability to buy back talent and devotion points to adjust for gear drops. Skill bonuses on gear work well with the class/mastery system. From what I understand, Fangs of Asterkan will now let you re-roll stats on your gear!

Gear is tradable. If you haven't been blessed by RNGesus, you can trade stored gear with total strangers or friends in multiplayer. I love being able to give gear to someone that might be able to use it instead of letting it collect dust in my chest. Likewise, I have been freely given some pretty nice pieces too.

This is one of my favorite games. If anyone pics up the OG game with all the expansions and wants a friend to play with, hit me up on steam. (Tararabbit111279) It's also available on xbox but I don't know if it's cross platform compatible.
