Sometimes Cincinnati Biz Courier links are posted. These are mostly paywalled. IF you have a library card then you can view the articles by doing the following steps:

  • Visit the library magazine/newspaper section.
  • Click on Cincinnati Business Courier there and log in if needed.
  • For now, manually find the link that was posted here (I will try to figure out a way to auto format links or something so it takes you right to it at some point.)

Finally....something will happen to Garfield Tower.

Access to the link can be had through the library FYI.

Notably it says something about an arena down there.

47 million expected (for some reason) from the public but with the tax base established that might be better than just letting it continue to sit idle for another few decades.

  • Cincinnati Metro will replace 3,700 signs across Hamilton County over two years.
  • The $6.5 million project, funded by federal dollars secured by U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman, includes 400 benches and 200 shelters.
  • University of Cincinnati students helped design the new signs with larger route numbers and QR codes.

More benches and shelters, nice signs? Small but nice QoL improvements if you ask me. Makes the bus look more attractive to ride (no matter how small the changes are.)

I know some already know but for anyone that doesn't it's a nice bit of trivia.

Just want to say this place and the people are really cool. Went recently with a group for an outing.

  1. Had no idea there was a curling club in the metro to begin with so that's cool.
  2. All the people there were really cool and welcoming. They walked us through how to play (and safely) and were very helpful. Didn't matter if you had issues getting going or doing any of the "jobs"- they were there to help and make sure everyone had a good time.
  3. They actually have leagues and all that too if you want to keep doing it.

Not a part of their org but could honestly see myself doing some kind of league in the future. It's all non-profit so I think it all just goes to grow the sport and such in the region. Really nondescript location out in the middle of nowhere West Chester (reminds me of driving to Dogberry honestly) but ran by great people with a lot of enthusiasm for the project.

Highly recommend for a fun outing with like your work people or just a group of friends. I did not set it up (only attended) so couldn't tell you about setting it up but I'm sure they're easy to call/email and get it going. Link is in the post title.

I wonder if it'll be good or bad in the long run. Piecemeal regs by neighborhood might be targeted or they might be abused by NIMBYs who oppose any kind of development.

I just realized we have 4 mods and I think curve was the one that asked if anyone wanted to help, but is curve the owner?

On that note, do you need/want donations for operating expenses?

I like Taste, but the crowds really drive me away (in addition to price). I'm sure adding an extra day will help, but not enough for me to want to deal with the people.

Kudos to CPS and all the workers responsible for it. Good to hear.

A now regular occurrence but always like to make sure it's confirmed before the big day.
