Grumpy cat Quiche wanted to wish a happy #Caturday but couldn't be bothered to get out of bed!

So here she is impersonating a pillow 💤

He is mischief maker, but in a good sense. Always right there with me, but never in the way. Will happily accept a snack if you’re holding💗

Belka is a barn cat we got 8 years ago. She is missing teeth which means she is probably at least 9 years old.

She is a champion mouser with the highest confirmed kill count than anyone else here.

But she is old. We are trying to ease her into retirement and make her an indoor cat. But we aren't going to force it. A cat that doesn't want to stay instead will find ways of making your life miserable. Like peeing on stove burners.

She is going to tell you in subtle ways that she doesn't want to be picked up. But she is also going to lean into your cuddles and purr in a loving way.

Because we are trying to train her to be an indoor cat we can't really get angry that she prefers to sleep on our counters.

Got a call about kittens in a shed. By the time we got there I one kitten was already expired. One wasn't going to make it through the day without intervention. More than half of all feral kittens won't make it to three months old.

We got the mom and one other. Two more to go.

And unlike in a lot of cases we actually got some money. Not sure if it will cover all the gas costs but it definitely helps.

The kittens are off to be bottle fed by someone who will probably go insane because bottle feeding kills humans. The adults will go in on Tuesday to get fixed and vaccinated.

Fix yo damn pets.

He was just in for routine maintenance. He actually never got the memo he’s supposed to hate the vet. He seemingly had a great time, they couldn’t hear his heartbeat over his purring (not the first time) and he got a treat. Life is good!

I have trained my cat (sh.itjust.works)

I've used clicker training to teach my cat to sit up for treats. Next: teaching her to spin around? I'm not sure. Sitting up and trying to reach something is already close to her natural behavior so she picked it up pretty fast.

(Edit: does lemmy support multiple pics without sticking them in the post body?)

Reagan was part of a litter someone had rescued. They couldn't keep them due to a landlord dispute. I brought them in. Two cats took a trip on the kitten railroad to adoption.

One cat, Nixon, was unfit for adoption because he kept peeing in my bed. We found a spot for him on a local cat refuge.

That left Reagan. She didn't pee the bed. She was also completely unable to be tamed. And, as you can tell, she is a long hair. This is Lesser Carolina. A horrible place for a long hair to live.

The local SPCA said Reagan could be a "permanent foster." She lives here. She isn't ours. They will provide flee treatments and dewormer as needed. I will do whatever is needed to corner her to administer those treatments.

Occasionally I see her outside chasing mice. But that's 50 yards away. It is rare that I see her in the house even though she spends most of her time in the house. She doesn't like us. That's her right. But we are here for her if she does need us. She is about to experience her first summer with us as an adult. I'm not looking forward to trapping her in the bathroom to pin her down to administer some flea meds but I know it's coming.

I can only assume that she will like me even less after that. But as long as she goes out and comes back we will be here for her.

Jackie and her sister were two feral kittens that were so feral the animal shelter didn't even know their sex when they called and said "Piller. We have two extra spicy for you at your convenience."

They were about 8 weeks old. They were definitely extra spicy. I couldn't tame them. I kept them for a long time. I gave them attention everyday. I fed them the bestest of foods. And they still hated me with every fiber in their body. I got a fixed and vaccinated.

They were not going to be eligible for adoption. We also have a very limited number of opportunities to place cats like this in our area. So I made the decision that they would stay here. They could live in my house and eventually they would discover the cat door and escape into the world. If they decided to come back for food and the occasional deworming that would be up to them.

Jackie's sister has done a 180 and is about 75% tame. On the other hand, Jackie makes the point of doing a zero traction cartoon run out of any room that I enter where she is also present. She is extra resistant to taming.

I just caught this picture of her in the cat wheel. It is the most domestic cat I have ever seen her do.

Eventually she will find the cat door. Then she'll get to meet the geese and the chickens and the ducks. And she will also find a lifetime supply of mice. I don't know if she'll come back in. Right now she's basically a ghost in the house. We see her on occasion but we know better than to acknowledge her existence.

It’s 3 A.M. and I’m on the edge of throwing my pat off the catio.

I hear a lot about post-poop zoomies, and it made me kind of curious, as I desire to choke this small mammal, I wonder does anyone else’s cat get zoomies before they poop?

I’m pretty sure he has ADHD and oppositional defiance (always heard “I hope you have a kid one day that’s just like you!” growing up, so I guess I got what’s coming.), and I’ve accepted him for who he is and I’ve begrudgingly grown to love the little bastard, a lot, regardless of my complaints. My nephew dropped him at my door and I didn’t have the heart to not take him in.

I. Did. Not. Want. A. Cat. What happened to my life? Why do I put up with this groblin?

My Cute Pet Page (pirahxcx.neocities.org)

Hello. I have a long history of taking care of rescued pets, and I currently have 35 cats and 4 dogs living with me (I do have enough space for them) and I decided to make a page to show them and also share my history with animals, including a section with little stories about unusual animals.

It's still under construction. I have only created a profile for 1/3 of my pets so far, but tonight I finished writing the entire History page and there is a lot of content, so I consider my page to be 50% done now, and I thought of making it public :)
