My second attempt with Harman Phoenix 200, this time I metered most shots around 125 or 100 iso, which worked quite a bit better. Though I still had more under than overexposed shots.

Also, I'm very much a telelens person. This was another instance of me forcing myself to shoot with the wide-angle prime. I would've loved to see the 50mm version of this shot

an image of the interior of an ambiguous antique blue sportscar. through the driver-side window, the glossy blue and chrome exterior contrasts the darker shades of browns and blacks that accent the interior of the car.

Hi everyone! I recently purchased a Santacolor 100 film stock, and I cannot find the expiration date written anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestion?

Thank you very much for your help!

A picture of the former Kakola prison, now converted to a hotel. The view from the serpentine road up the hill to it is one of my favorite spots in Turku, and a location I've photographed multiple times when testing out cameras.

Scanned with a Plustek 7600i, converted with NegPy, which is quickly becoming my favorite option for processing negatives.

This specific AT-1 is unfortunately overdue a shutter replacement. The curtain is starting to exhibit pinholes, and parts of the rubber coating can be seen floating around in the viewfinder. Shame, really, as it's one of my favorite bodies to shoot with, but at least it won't be expensive to replace as they tend to fetch less of a price than the other FD bodies.

The fact that it's behind fences, next to gravel, dirt, trash. The only flowers are the ones that are painted on the wall says a lot. The hope we have is the hope that we create.

My first time shooting a film stock with an insane iso like this, previously I hadn't gone for anything higher than iso 400 and mostly colour. I also pushed myself a bit out of my comfort zone with the 28mm, as I rarely feel comfortable shooting below 50mm.

Somehow this was the only shot of the roll that seemed properly exposed, with many others mildly or wildly underexposed. I've since checked the lightmeter of my XG9 against other references at 3200 iso (or rather 1600 iso -1 stop because the XG9 doesn't support 3200 iso). But unless I push it way harder than I'd ever do irl, I see no fault there. Edge markings and this shot are also fine, and the camera has previously behaved normally, so it was probably just a skill issue somehow.

Playing with some still lifes in my bedroom. Single light from a cheap desk lamp. I think the exposure was something like 12 seconds.

I took this on New Years Eve with my Graflex Speed Graphic 4x5 camera that I recently restored.

Some fun history about the place: it was originally built in 1876 and on Saturdays they do tours where you can even see it in operation. It's a working museum.

It's the only grist mill in Washington that has maintained it original structural integrity, mills with stones, and is water powered.

I've always been frustrated about film scanning being locked behind a paywall or generic AI slop. I've tried to make this as system agnostic as I can. Please give me feedback so that I can improve this article. Thanks in advance!

Heavily damaged negative that, after fixing, came out better than expected. Happy accidents!

Hello beginner photographers like me exploring black-and-white film developing…

I'm sharing the app I created to make my life easier and to follow the process properly when using the Bergger One monobath developer.

Hello there

I just received a TTArtisant 40mm macro for my Fuji XM-1, much needed to scan negatives.

The focus ring is slow and need quite some efforts to turn. Probably best for precision and not sliding out of focus.

But the mount has a quite a lot of play. It rotates following the focus ring adjustments, which, in turn, mess with the focus… It fit nicely flat on the body but this angular free play is annoying.

Anyway I need a macro lens, and can’t afford $600 for a genuine Fujinon X mount Lens…

Does anyone also have TTArtisan manual focus lenses ? How does they fit ?

I am tempted to send it back, can’t decide. Any advices ?

Bye

[Edit] thanks for all replies, the lens is sent back.

[Edit] new lens came in, with exact same angular play. I guess it's my life now, I shall keep it.

I love the creative constraints of film, but I also like instantaneousness of digital. Instax strikes a nice balance between the two imo, though I'll likely eventually get into film. I don't know a ton about Polaroid history, but I believe instant camera SLRs are not that common? Combine that with that fact that the NONS SL660 supports interchangeable lenses, and I think it's a one of a kind camera - correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm excited to unlock the secrets of this camera.

Also, shoutout to this beautiful mini monstera.

Probably taken with the 50mm prime, but maybe with the 28mm. Scanned using my Olympus EM-5 Mk II with the Olympus 14-42mm pancake zoom. Processed in Darktable.

This film was very hard to scan, because there's absolutely no reference. Is the water/sky too cyan? Idk. But I like the colours in this image.

Film shot at box speed, stand developed with Rodinal. This is the location of the old Crichton-Vulkan shipyard in Turku, which used to be a major shipbuilder in Finland. Some of the most significant ships to get built here were e.g. the submarines used by the Finnish navy in WWII, first of which was originally built as a prototype for the Reichsmarine. It's still possible to go see one of them, CV-707 or Vesikko, in Suomenlinna where it's on display.

The shipyard, after multiple restructurings, eventually located to Perno, Turku, and was eventually purchased by Meyer. Now it's mostly known for building the worlds largest cruise ships, such as the Royal Caribbean Icon-class. The old dry-dock and shipyard were developed into new housing, and on the right you can see some of the most expensive homes in all of Turku.
