Just my two cents, but there's just no reason for people to come here when it's 80+% political shit a

As a contra point, I'm glad that its like this, a lack of politcal debate is toxic to democracy and that way be dragons.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_circuses

In a political context, the phrase means to generate public approval, not by excellence in public service or public policy, but by diversion, distraction, or by satisfying the most immediate or base requirements of a populace, by offering a palliative: for example food (bread) or entertainment (circuses). Juvenal originally used it to decry the "selfishness" of common people and their neglect of wider concerns. The phrase implies a population's erosion or ignorance of civic duty as a priority.

That doesn't mean there shouldn't be more other stuff as well though.

Humans organised by hierarchy.

It never works and always ends with civilisations that ever attempt it collapsing. No matter how often we do the same dumb shit over and over it never works.. Are we insane anons ?

We should have years ago, I think its impossible now. We use their IT everywhere for example, who hosts taz office records ? We have their military bases everywhere , look what happned to the ICC. How we let ourselves give up our digital soveriginety is an all time disaster thats unfurled.

The turning point for me was when George Bush was in then Australian Parliament and Senator Bob Brown was banned. An elected Australia senator was banned from Parlment. I started voting Green then.

We should really align ourselves with the EU and move away from the US.conplelty, the US jumped the shark with Trump the first time and we still didn't pay attention, going the ANKUS root is a fucking national embarrassment

Regardless you're not going to get any change from the ALP nor LNP, they're too embedded in the orthodoxy.

Why do journalists do this sort of thing

FOX has always said it's entertainment, not News. They use that defence in court cases. They're not journalists, they're entertainers.

Once upon a time :) there was a weekly thread way back in the day on Reddit about people showing their sketches done on the Galaxy Note 9 (android phone with a stylus).

Everyones like holy shit, thats good as people posted theirs. I jokingly posyed a poorly drawn stick figure. Someone commented that was about their ability back about a year ago, they then proceeded to ensure that every day they did a sketch getting better (Used Autodesk Sketchbook) and the stuff they then posted was incredible.

Moral of the story? I can't play my banjo, harmonica, guitar or sketch worth shit becase I don't have that discipline. 90% perspiration. Of course thw truly great sruff needs that extra 10% AS WELL. If you're a muso you definetly can!

I relate this story as that post of theirs made me really think. Years later I have a Samsung S22u and still can't sketch for shit :)

As to the OP, awesome work :)

Is he talking about killing Trump?

Aside from mostly old farts like myslef who started on a C64 before going to an A1000 to an A1200, is there legs left in this ?

Surely a port to Linux and replace the desktop with something Amiga like is about the only option, short of some.tech bro investing Billions ? Somethibg like Mint but Commodore with the Amiga dekstop if they control the IP?

Us old farts are.going to die out and i havent had any Commodore or Amiga hardware for 2 decades now.

On the Berkeley data, the PLF10 model estimates the final value at 1.41 ± 0.10 °C and final warming rate at 0.38 ± 0.14 °C/decade (2σ confidence intervals).

If the globe continues to warm at that rate, then we’ll cross the 1.5 °C limit of the Paris Climate Accord before the year 2030.

2024 was the warmest year since records began being kept 175 years ago. According to the World Meteorological Organization’s latest State of the Global Climate report:

  • Each of the past ten years set a new global temperature record.
  • Each of the past eight years set a new record for ocean heat content.
  • The 18 lowest Arctic sea-ice extents on record were all in the past 18 years.
  • The three lowest Antarctic ice extents were in the past three years.
  • The largest three-year loss of glacier mass on record occurred in the past three years.
  • The rate of sea level rise has doubled since satellite measurements began.[1]

There is no room for doubt: Earth is getting hotter. The question now is how hot will it get?
