Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

Such a vivid memory in my head. I guarantee it will be a memory that gently floats it way into my subconscious as I lay on my death bed. Gently like a butterfly. Then, like a million atomic bombs going off at once, Jim Carrey shoving his way out of a fake Rhinoceros's pussy face first will blast across my neurons like the face of God glimpsing into my soul. Then I will flat line.

There are certainly worse ways to end.

Hey, to be fair, it is one of my favorite childhood memories. I would giggle my ass off.

Not to be dark, but that scene actually got my dad to stop beating my ma one time. Literally, he stopped mid beating. It sounded like a record scratch.

That's absolutely dark, but it makes sense why it is important to you.

Ha. Yep. Gotta laugh at the past sometimes. How ya get through it

Yes, but five minutes later, we’ve all moved on

[–] Salamanderwizard@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

I wouldn't want it any other way.

I would subscribe to updates about weird stuff being auctioned off

I was severely tempted by the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen car. (Not that I could have come close to affording it.)

Adam Savage makes several videos about props being put up for auction. He even did a video on this rhino.

Welcome to Lemmy

It's a big, fiberglass static rhino, only the ears move. It's the one Jim was "birthed" out of. There's a seat and control panel mocked up inside, but this isn't the one that moved. It's clear from the movie that there are two rhinos, as you can see by the leg joints on the one that moves.

Wouldn't it be funny if Jim Carrey bought it! He could install it as a front door to his home, to make for amusing entrances and exits.

His new face looks like it did when his head started poking out in the movie

[–] salvaria@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 7 months ago

In case anyone hasn't seen the scene

[–] plateee@piefed.social 8 points 7 months ago

That's some future Antiques Roadshow gold right there!

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 7 months ago

No low balls. I know what I got

[–] SuperEars@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Would John Oliver be interested

Surprisingly affordable.
