It's nearly Christmas and I haven't even turned on the heating yet. Some trees and flowers in my street are even blossoming. Because that's normal.

The weather is bonkers here too. Its early summer and a big Fly Agaric mushroom popped up on the side of the driveway a couple days ago. Like sometimes a cold snap in spring will make them show up but mostly they are a late autumn-winter thing.
Went into a book store and noticed they don't have any socialist books, even though they have a whole section on economy and another on society. Even if you wanted to buy a book to change someone's mind, you can't. But they have a lot of liberal books, for example I saw one about how bad and evil the DPRK is.
Censorship and state approved propaganda.
I have definitely noticed this as well. The biggest English language used books store in the city has pretty-much nothing of note on that front. It surprisingly (or rather unsurprisingly) has books on how bad and evil Stalin and Mao were in the politics section, lol.

Hey guys, I am hopefully back here on a somewhat regular basis.
I have a couple things to bring to you as "news".
On saturday, our party is celebrating it's 36th birthday. I have been invited but honestly I am afraid to be there, because of my uselessness and to be confronted about is. (Meaning, I shouldn't be there, because I don't deserve it.)
The school I have been working at since september has turned out to be crazy taxing on me, which I have been dealing with very poorly to be frank. I think I need to exercise a lot more and fix my eating too, does anyone have an online resource I can trust for exercising? (I am vegan and an absolute beginner.)
I am doing okay with uni, even though I thought I will fail most of my classes, because of work. Nevertheless half of the exams are still ahead of me.
I have moved to arch on my puter, it is turning my not yet gray hair into gray ones, lol.
I was thankfully able to read most post on Lemmygard, thank you for keeping me sane.
I might write about my experience in school and maybe about what kinda discussion I had with an old classmate of mine, do you think comradeship is a fine /c for that or do you have another place in mind?

Am I using Mastodon wrong or is it just boring and lifeless by default?
90% of every post I see is news, an advertisement, or some kind of bot. There are barely any real people on any of the feeds and it's a depressing experience. Am I doing something wrong?

i tried to do mastodon a couple times but i came to the same conclusion as you. tbh it's a lot easier for me to just follow the few people on mastodon who actually matter through rss than it is for me to get a good mastodon feed
The Belgian government is nicknamed Arizona because the party colours of the coalition match with the State of Arizona flag and our party keeps saying that we can take down Arizona. Which seems like we have this very one sided beef with this random state.

I find it's hard not to feel a bit arrogant sometimes having ML views in the west. I don't really like feeling that way, but I have the feeling sometimes. Maybe lingering arrogance from previous socialization is part of it. But I also think a factor is that the western status quo insists on being blind to the insight and direction that scientific socialism can provide. So it's like you're on "team science but applied to politics" and they're like "nuh uh, that's communism, communism bad." And even with a basic understanding of the framework, you're already so far past on understanding how things work and why, and what could be done differently. It doesn't even mean you're good at it in a broader, practiced sense (like you might be really bad at it compared to an average party member in an AES state), but compared to the average westerner with no understanding of it, it's leaps and bounds just to have the basics.
So I don't know. I self-hate arrogance and ego in general. But maybe that feeling is my way of coping with how politically illiterate people tend to be. Arrogance rather than despairing about it or something.
