So I've had this friend that used to tell me he was a leftist. I thought because of that I could radicalize him to become an ML, but fuck me turns out he's so much worse than I anticipated. He isn't even a radlib, just a full on liberal.

Me and another ML friend of mine were having a talk with him and we got on the topic of Trump being incompetent as fuck, specifically about something having to do with Iran, to which I said something to the effect of "These sort of losses were inevitable anyways, the Trump admin's absolute max level idiocy only accelerates it." He, naturally, disagreed because Trump is the evil bad guy that causes every problem in the world for liberals. The conversation bounced back and forth for a second and somehow the topic shifted to a the recent claim China was stealing US planes from Hong Kong. I said they don't really need to steal any tech from the US and they already have a gen 6 fighter anyways. He challenged the claim they had one and eventually it got into topics about a war (since liberals can't help but think about butchering millions every opportunity they can get). I told him the US, in its modern form, would suffer horrible supply shocks and likely lose a war in China. That set him fucking OFF. He was rambling completely mad and delusional. Highlights include:

1. The US Navy is better because (he doesn't really have a stated reason for this beyond mentions of carrier numbers)
2. China would stop building ships because in the event of a war they wouldn't be able to export stuff, and they need to export stuff to build ships
3. Solar power won't make that much of a difference
4. The US produces enough oil on its own that it would be fine, military consumes 200,000 per day and we produce 13,000,000 per day
5. US has more nuclear submarines and thus would win
6. The Pentagon said the US would win
7. The US controls Venezuela now and thus would be able to erect trillions of dollars of oil infrastructure at the moment's notice of a war in order to recoup what oil it may lose out on in Asia.
8. It means nothing that the Pentagon said it would lose war games against China.

I tried to spin away from the topic of war itself and instead spoke specifically about supply shocks the US would experience, namely oil. I explained that the US wants to crush Iran to gain control of the Strait of Hormuz so that it can further exercise control over China because it is threatened by the geopolitical aims of the Belt and Road Initiative (also communism but by this point I had figured out he's a leftist by KKK rally standards). Specifically in weaning the third world off the West. If I thought the previous delusion was bad, his Winter Soldier genes activated once I said the words "Belt and Road" (which I never even claimed was good or bad btw). On some level he had probably realized the position on who would win a war is completely divorced from reality as he started walking back many of his more extreme statements during the conversation, and this was probably a good out for him. He completely blew up the conversation by obsessively asking whether or not me and my other friend think the B&R initiative is a bad thing or a good thing and started spreading some bullshit about China debt trapping the third world. Also USAID is actually good btw. I wasn't gonna sit there and have to show him that whatever sources he would send are inevitably linked to the NED or some other CIA front, so I redirected the conversation again away from moralism and it petered out from there.

Liberals are genuinely rabid.
