What is the "can't count to three" joke about here? Did they skip supporting M2 or something?

M2: Episode 1 (or, Asahi Linux on M3)

Looks like its called M2 Episode 1, which is an alternative name for M3. But this is just the article title? I don't think they know how the "can't count to three"-joke by Valve works either.^^

I think it refers to Valve Software never releasing the third game in their series, like Half-Life 3 and Team Fortress 3.

That's usually how "can't count to three" jokes work, but this is clearly an announcement about someone successfully releasing a #3 of something. I don't get it.

It makes internal sense because they named the blog-post without using 3.

But it doesn't make sense to me either, because they are releasing the 3rd of something, and i have no context re: why they wouldn't count to 3, unlike with valve.
