Translation: I (as CEO of Ford) failed to address this market and my poor decisions are threatening to come back and bite me. Please save me by blocking my competitors from entering this market. I'll continue to shift away from climate friendly tech to pander to US politics rather than innovate on my merits.

Republican Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno, who claims the Chinese auto industry is “a cancer” that “was built to destroy American manufacturing, gut the middle class, and undermine our national security.”

I thought that was the goal of the GOP? Why are they complaining? They're already OK with insurrectionists smearing shit on walls inside the capital, literally. Trump trusting Putin over the FBI. And on and on.
