I'm not sure that is really the thing holding everyone back. Like gays aren't being brutally murdered or women being raped, or public funds embezzled because America empire. People are actually just kinda bad unto themselves. If America disappeared today I think our issues would still be there with corruption and poverty.

The cases that I've seen are very positive. One patient described it as living life in black and white and someone turned on the color aka there was a new depth to their experience of life. Generally it's not like a lobotomy. Also useful for drug resistant depression in some cases.

There are really only four scenarios. They stop fighting and forge a lasting peace, one wipes out the other, they continue to fight till the end of time, or both get wiped out.

That was never my argument. Even after WWII there were the Nuremberg trials. Justice should always be there for anyone who committed a war crime regardless of which side of the war they were on and regardless of which country.
