Fascists just adore Social Darwinism.

To marginalized groups such as Black Americans, they’ve been living under a fascist police state all along. Only now is it spreading and affecting everyone.
Maybe stop paying $1.5 trillion dollars to the military industrial complex serving Israel, Wall St, military contractors and big oil.
And maybe stop giving the rich tax breaks on generational wealth and capital gains.
We only need a homeland defense force. That’s it. $100-150 billion a year is plenty. If we stopped the disgusting amount of military spending, we could have modern safety nets just like Europe.
The polls have been consistently showing progressive policies have been popular for quite a while. It’s the party that wasn’t going along with the wishes of voters.
The reshaping of the DNC towards the left is an unstoppable force at this point. Boomer voters and old Reagan-era politicians are dying off. After decades of neoliberalism maintaining the status quo, the younger generation of voters are getting very impatient with the way things currently are.
The Courts failed because they were handed too much power in the first place. They’re unelected officials who are chosen by a partisan executive branch, so they’re the extension of the president’s political agenda and just as subject to corruption. If the President wants fascism, they can stack the Court to get fascism, and since there’s no term limits, we’re stuck with them for life.
And since medical interventions keep these folks alive well into dinosaur age, that’s a long time to be stuck with a biased Court. That is inherently anti democratic.
Trying to remove a legal document from the cultural zeitgeist in which it was created is impossible. It was designed from the ground up to abolish all limits on White property/slave owners and give them license to make money without repercussions. That included allowing politicians themselves to exploit citizens and their own positions for economic gains.
The landed gentry of colonists were rebelling against what they perceived as economic repression, not repression of rights. Freedom to the mercantilist class meant freedom of economic exploitation.
Our bill of rights doesn’t go far enough. It needs to be rewritten to exclude businesses as people, and protect the rights of marginalized groups. It also needs to address election reform, political corruption, and the complete removal of money from politics.
If we instead lived by Hammurabi’s code, would that still work in the modern age?
Gotta agree here. In terms of endorsing human rights, Dems have a far superior record to the GOP. However, it’s their motivation that I question. Since most Dems are beholden to their corporate donors, their motivation is “freedom of consumption,” that is, giving access of consumption to marginalized groups to maximize profits. I wonder how much of it is a genuine concern for human rights.
It also explains how Dems don’t go far enough or fight hard enough when it comes to marginalized groups.
I’ll take a win regardless of the motivation, but it’s interesting to investigate the underlying motivations.
47% of Dems in that state are conservative neoliberal Zionists. The boomers will eventually die off.
And if you don’t vote in primaries, you need to start. It’s the only chance any of us have a say-so on who ends up on the Dem ticket.
Tell me the constitutional weaknesses and loopholes weren’t exploited to allow the oligarchs to hand power to a fascist traitor who doesn’t respect the law.
What good is a constitution if it can’t even prevent the situation we’re in now?
Wow, must be nice to have the trading bots that large financial institutions have. I’d be able to buy low and sell high without fail every time this crook opens his mouth.
