Hello mates, Does anyone have any tips to share in improving subliminal subtitle search and download? I have trouble in finding pt-BR subtitlesd with it, and, at the moment, I can't run a bazzarr server where my jellyfin is stored.

Neat. I'll look at that, thanks!

thanks, I'll look at it!

Hello everyone. Need some opinions here. Does it worth all the trouble to make things like jellyfin and immich run with HTTPS for services that are only accesible in the LAN? I ask it 'cause, as far as I know, there is no way to put a valid certificate like let's encrypt for a service that is not accessible from the net and I don't plan to buy a certificate for myself. But I have some trouble with the rest of my family having issue with their browsers complaining about the lack of https every time a browser is updated. So, what would be the best solution?

Hello everyone! Is there any alternative to android auto for a degoogled phone running microG? I mean, one that can connect on " android auto ready” devices.

Usually I keep everything on Debian, but I've been thinking in making some changes, like running mint on my kids laptops. My rock64 is running armbian, due some problems with latest Debian on it and DietPi on an rpi3. Oh yeah, an rpi4 is running has, due to my absolutely laziness 😂

DIY and HA (lemmy.zip)

A little question for the HA and DIY crossroad. Has anyone here made your own sensors/devices with arduino, pi or some other microcontroller/sbc to interact with HA? I have some spare parts around and I'm thinking in something simple, like an air quality, maybe a little weather station or something to tell me if the garage door is opened or close, something simple, yet usable. I had a look on instructables, but I wished for something that would integrate with my first HA experience. Any thoughts?

Edit: thanks everyone for the replies. If you could share how-tos to this projects or anything it would be awesome. You are a great community indeed! :)

Yeap, the price of security and stability is not having the latest bling. I'm fine with that.

Hello everyone, and good evening. I got to old motorola phones (one fusion and a g8) and I'm gonna install ip webcam to put them to some use. Is there any other way I can make use of them with HA? Can I use their sensors for anything else?

Dunno about an extension, but I use tubular (a newpipe fork with sponsorblock) on android and set it to open all the links for youtube videos on it. It has been working quite good, although lately I've been getting some videos not showing on tubuluar. Probably some change on youtube break this kinda of app.

@CallMeMrFlipper@lemmy.world and @iamthetot@piefed.ca I used a setting on immich called "partner sharing" or something like it (my immich instance is on ptBR). If I'm not mistaken, it was on my account settings. There I can mark an option to my partners photos be shown on my timeline. There's something That I have to do on looged on their accounts as well, but I can't quite remeber it now.

Edit: Just update my instance now and everything is apparently running fine.

Gonna wait to update my podman instance. I'd like immich to have a better mamagement in a multiuser enviroment. I have my wife and kids phones sending photos to it, but I'd like to edit or exclude images from their accounts from mine.

I've been using pi-hole for the last 3 or 4 years and I'm pretty satisfied with it. Now I'm thinking about the next step. Nowadays I have my local network and a tailscale to access my hosts. I'm thinking about a DNS solutions to solve the names on the locla network and thru tailscale simultanely, while been able to block ads on DNS like pi-hole do. What do you think would be a better solution for this next step? I've only used bind before, but I think and old dog can learn a new trick.

Hello everyone! Managed to get my hands on a HPE V1910 JE007a switch I'm planning to use on my home lab. Does anyone know if there's a FOSS firmware that can be used on it?

Hello everyone! Does anyone knows if its possible to:

  • Edit downloaded subtitles
  • Download subtitles for multiples episodes at once. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I'm trying to selfhost an invidious instance to use inside my home network, to, you know, avoid youtube and use sponsorblock. I tried to use their site instructions to hold a docker container (although I'm using podman-composer for personal reasons) but I just can't get it built. Has anyone succeded in doing it? any tips you can give me?

Hello everyone. totally nob here but very enthusiastic. I'm trying to repair an old SA610 pioneer amp that is shorted. I remove the power transformer and it's ok, generating 64 volts between red and orange as 32 volts between any of these and the white wire.

So, the short lies elsewhere, but I'm having a little trouble trying to find it ou. Can anyone help me?

I'm trying to disable the "auto play next episode" feature on the android client of the jellyfin app, but it doesn't seem to work. Has anyone got the same issue?
